A few minutes after the second male Rhipicera Beetle arrives on the scene, attracted by the female's pheromones, he has joined the mating couple at the top of the stalk.

The two males compete to displace each other and fertilise the female.

Meanwhile, the female beetle hangs onto the stalk, managing to support the weight of all three of them.
